Here's How We Do It...
Multiple Intelligeces Curriculum - It's not about how smart the child is, it's about how the child is smart!
Is your child visual? Musical? Rythmic? Kinesthetic? Interpersonal? At The Spirit of Sinai we base our curriculum on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, which offers students a variety of different ways to learn and achieve success. No child is left out of the loop. Each child's pathway is accessed. Each child's 'learning button' is pushed. The result: Jewish learning becomes meaningful and relevant for each and every student.
Cooperative Learning Stations - Say 'goodbye' to yesterday's non-interactive, frontal teaching methods. Say 'hello' to a whole new pathway to learning and processing!
Our colorful and creative 'Learning Stations' are a great way to build positive group dynamics, to help children understand diversity, gain perspective and build social skills. By developing their interpersonal intelligence, children discover a fascinating new way to learn!
Interactice, Multi-sensory and Hands-on Experiences - The body becomes a vehicle for learning Hebrew. Music becomes a learning tool, not just a time-filler. Social interactions are opportunities to reflect and express what they learn.
Experience has shown that children take 'ownership' of a concept if we provide creative ways for them to learn and express themselves. The teacher is less focused in his/her preferred teaching style, and more focus is given to the student's learning style. The result: Jewish learning becomes fun!
